I was a little worried about giving up Friday night to teach. Friday is the end of the week. Friday evening is a good time to close the door, cuddle up with the kids and the Cornishman, watch a movie, drink some wine. A reward for the rest of the week, an indulgence!
However, I have now taught my slowly growing intermediate group on Friday nights for a few weeks and it is an absolute delight. It has been a fantastic challenge to extend students I have been teaching for a few years. They have all been receptive to new ideas, thoughts, concepts and poses. I am honoured and excited to have the opportunity to teach this group. Far from being ‘giving something up’ my Friday night is now more rewarding, fulfilling and the best possible way to end a weeks teaching.
